Installation & Setup
Install the probe with finger-tight torque initially, then tighten to the recommended torque values. For M10x1 probe cases, the maximum rated torque is 33.9 N•m (300 in•lb), but the recommended value is 11.3 N•m (100 in•lb). For the first three threads, reduce to 22.6 N•m (200 in•lb) maximum and 7.5 N•m (66 in•lb) recommended.
Use field wiring of 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) with three-conductor shielded triad cable. Maximum field wiring length is 305 meters (1,000 feet) between the Proximitor Sensor and monitor.
Maintenance & Reliability
Routine inspection should focus on the probe tip for contamination or damage, and on cable integrity. The Viton O-ring provides a pressure seal, but probes are not pressure tested before shipment. If your application requires pressure testing, contact the custom design department.
