Applications
The 330709-000-030-10-01-05 excels in vibration monitoring of critical rotating assets such as steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and large pumps. Its 11 mm tip and precise cross-talk characteristics make it ideal for installations where shaft diameters exceed 152 mm and target surfaces are at least 30.5 mm. The probe's wide temperature range allows deployment in both high-temperature (up to +177°C) and low-temperature (down to -52°C) environments.
Installation & Setup
During installation, ensure the probe case thread (M16x1.5) engages fully up to 24 mm. Apply the recommended torque of 21.1 N•m (187 in•lb) for the case; do not exceed 63.3 N•m. Use finger-tight torque for the connector, with a maximum of 0.565 N•m (5 in•lb). Maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) on the cable to prevent damage. The 1.0 meter standard cable can be extended with compatible triaxial cable (75 Ω, FEP insulated) if needed.
Maintenance & Reliability
Periodically check the dc resistance across the probe (between center conductor and outer conductor) – it should be 5.9 ± 0.5 ohms for a 1.0m probe. Significant deviation indicates cable or tip damage. Avoid exposing the probe to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) to prevent pressure seal failure. The PPS tip and 304 stainless steel case provide excellent chemical and mechanical resistance in harsh industrial environments.
Troubleshooting
If readings become erratic or noisy, verify that the target surface and shaft diameters meet the minimum cross-talk requirements (30.5 mm target, 152 mm shaft). Check connector torque and cable integrity. Over-torquing the case can strip threads or distort the probe body. Ensure the ambient temperature stays within the specified temperature classification limits for your hazardous area (EPL Ga/Gc or Dc).
