Product Overview
The Bently Nevada 330191-00-70-90-CN is a 3300 XL 8 mm Extended Temperature Range (ETR) proximity probe designed for reliable shaft vibration and position measurement in critical rotating machinery. This industrial automation module incorporates patented TipLoc and CableLoc technologies to enhance mechanical integrity, delivering 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength from probe case to lead. The 9.0-meter total length and 3/8-24 UNF thread make it suitable for a wide range of machine train installations.

Industry Applications
This probe excels in steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, and large motors where continuous vibration monitoring is essential. The 8 mm design with thicker PPS encapsulation resists physical abuse common in high-vibration environments. For oil-lubricated machinery, the optional FluidLoc cable prevents lubricant migration through the cable interior, eliminating a common failure point.
Installation Guidance
Mount the probe using the 3/8-24 UNF thread with a maximum engagement of 0.563 in. Ensure the unthreaded length is at minimum 0.0 in. For one-meter systems, no extension cable is required. When using barriers, maintain supply voltage between -23 Vdc and -26 Vdc to avoid reduced linear range. Torque connectors to no more than 0.565 N•m (5 in•lbf). The Viton® O-ring provides differential pressure sealing between tip and case—probes are not pressure tested prior to shipment, so verify seal integrity after installation.
Maintenance and Reliability
With a 12-month factory warranty and robust construction, the 330191-00-70-90-CN offers long service life. The patented CableLoc design locks the cable to the probe body, resisting pull forces up to 330 N. Regularly inspect the PPS tip and stainless steel case for cracks or wear in abrasive environments. The FEP or PFA cable insulation withstands extended temperature ranges; for EPL Ga/Gc areas, refer to the temperature classification table above to ensure safe operation.
Troubleshooting and Common Issues
If output voltage drifts, check that supply voltage is within -17.5 Vdc to -26 Vdc and that output resistance is near 50 Ω. A low linear range often results from operating above -23.5 Vdc. Oil leakage through the cable indicates FluidLoc option was not specified—retrofit with a fluid-resistant cable if needed. Connector corrosion can be avoided by using gold-plated brass or beryllium copper types and applying correct torque. For erratic readings, verify that the probe tip is not contacting the shaft or that the gap is within specified range. Always use BN extension cables to maintain entity parameters when connecting to BN proximity systems.
