Ensure the target surface is clean and flat, and maintain the recommended gap of 1.0 mm (40 mils) for optimal linearity. For field wiring, use a three-conductor shielded triad cable with conductor sizes 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG). Maximum field wiring length between the Proximitor Sensor and monitor is 305 meters (1,000 feet). Avoid bending the probe cable beyond a 25.4 mm (1.0 in) radius to prevent damage.
Maintenance & Reliability
Routine inspection should focus on the probe tip for contamination or wear, and on cable integrity for cuts or kinks. The stainless steel case and PPS tip offer robustness, but periodic checks are recommended in high-vibration environments. The probe is designed to seal differential pressure with a Viton O-ring; however, it is not pressure tested before shipment.
