Product Overview
The GE IC697CBL700 is a power supply extension cable for the Series 90-70 PLC platform. It lets you operate two racks from a single 55W or 100W AC/DC power supply by carrying 5V power and control signals to a second rack through a 9-pin D-type connector. The IC697CBL700 is the correct part when you need to expand an existing Series 90-70 system without adding another power supply.

Applications
The GE IC697CBL700 supports Series 90-70 installations where a second rack must share the power supply of the first rack. Typical uses include:
- Expanding an existing Series 90-70 system with a second rack while using one 55W or 100W AC/DC power supply.
- Distributing 5V power and the ACFAIL and SYSRESET control signals to a remote rack slot.
- Accommodating IC697 modules in the second rack that operate with 12 Volts.

Installation and Compatibility
The IC697CBL700 plugs directly into the backplane-mounted connector and mounts with M2.5 screws. It works with both 55W and 100W AC/DC power supplies. The ACFAIL signal goes false after the 5V bus voltage is applied, and the SYSRESET signal can be held in the reset state for up to 200 milliseconds after 5V is applied. The extension cable includes overvoltage and overcurrent protection; if a fault occurs in the power supply, the fuse opens. A cover plate is supplied for additional protection.
Operating Notes
- Do not exceed 50 degrees Celsius operating temperature; above 50 degrees Celsius, decrease the maximum output power.
- Avoid bending the extension cable too much during installation to prevent damage.
- Input frequency range is 50 to 60 Hertz.
Selection Guide
Choose the GE IC697CBL700 when a Series 90-70 second rack must draw a smaller amount of current than the first rack and share a single 55W or 100W AC/DC power supply.
