Installation & Setup
For optimal performance, mount the probe with the recommended torque of finger tight (maximum 0.56 N•m). Ensure the target surface meets the minimum 8.9 mm diameter, with 13 mm recommended. When routing the cable, maintain a bend radius of at least 25.4 mm to prevent damage. Field wiring should use a three-conductor shielded triad cable, with a maximum length of 305 meters between the Proximitor and monitor. Set the initial gap to approximately 1.0 mm (40 mils) for best linearity.
Maintenance & Reliability
Regularly inspect the probe tip and cable for signs of wear or chemical damage. The PPS tip and stainless steel case offer excellent resistance, but periodic checks are recommended in harsh environments. Ensure the connector is properly torqued to avoid signal degradation.
